EIB Trainee – Operations Directorate – Adriatic Sea and Malta Division – Rome, Italy
The European Investment Bank (EIB) invites applications for the EIB Trainee role in the Operations Directorate, Public Sector Department, Adriatic Sea and Malta Division (4-MA&M) at its Local office in Rome, Italy.
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1 March/April 2026). Only applicants from EU Member States or countries with candidate status (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine) will be considered. Erasmus+ overlapping programs are not accepted. Limit applications to three publications; only the first three will be considered.
Responsibilities
Support financial and risk analysis of borrowers to assess creditworthiness and viability of proposed projects.
Assist in preparing and updating marketing materials used during client meetings and public events, ensuring accuracy and engagement.
Conduct research on topics relevant to the Division’s activities, contributing insights that support strategic decisions.
Enhance and maintain datasets related to clients and sectors, helping improve the Division’s understanding of market trends and opportunities.
Qualifications
Final year of studies or University degree preferably in Business Administration or Finance.
First existing work experience in financial analysis considered an advantage.
Strong analytical skills, especially in financial and risk assessment would be an advantage.
Familiarity with data research and management tools.
Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular Excel and PowerPoint).
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French; knowledge of Italian would be an advantage.
