Senior Planner – Role Overview
Join one of Ireland’s largest Planning teams as a Senior Planner. This position is essential to meeting the continued strong demand for our services, where you will work on renewable energy and infrastructure projects across Ireland.
You will act as a leading member of the team, managing complex assignments, providing expert oversight, and mentoring the next generation of planners.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of large-scale renewable energy projects, allowing you to utilise and grow your senior planning skills.
Responsibilities
* You will lead and oversee the delivery of renewable energy planning applications and projects, managing complexity and ensuring technical excellence from start to finish.
* Act as a leading member of the Planning team, working on and leading large renewable energy planning projects from inception to completion.
* Lead on the delivery of planning applications and oversee and review all planning inputs, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
* Act as the main point of contact with client representatives, engaging proactively with relevant authorities and stakeholders to progress projects effectively.
* Undertake comprehensive review of planning assessments, reports, and project planning inputs prepared by the team.
* Actively mentor junior members of the team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth.
* Ensure effective interaction with project stakeholders, clients, and multi-disciplinary project team members.
* Ensure the delivery of fit-for-purpose project outputs within set deadlines, maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
What We’re Looking For In You
* We are seeking an experienced Planner with a proven track record of successfully leading projects in a consultancy environment.
* A qualification in Town Planning (IPI or RTPI Accredited).
* A minimum of 6 years of post-graduate planning experience, ideally gained within a consultancy environment.
* Relevant and recent experience working on projects in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors is essential.
* An excellent working knowledge of the Irish planning system, including the interaction of relevant national and European planning and environmental legislation.
* Excellent report writing skills and strong organisational capabilities.
* Proven ability to lead and oversee complex planning projects and manage a varied and full workload.
* Candidates must possess a full driver’s licence.
