We are hiring a Chief 1 Cardiac Physiologist to a Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities Provide clinical and operational leadership across Non-Invasive Cardiology and the Cath Lab, ensuring high standards of patient-centred care and clinical excellence.
Maintain expert knowledge of cardiac diagnostic and interventional techniques and equipment, overseeing troubleshooting in collaboration with Clinical Engineering.
Develop, implement, evaluate, and document cardiac care programmes in partnership with Consultant Cardiologists, reporting clinical matters as appropriate.
Perform, train, and supervise staff in a comprehensive range of invasive and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Support the Chief II Physiologist in the operational management of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Department, including scheduling and workflow coordination with Cath Lab teams.
Supervise, delegate, and manage Cardiac Physiologists, ensuring safe practice, compliance with professional standards, and effective use of resources.
Ensure accurate patient records, departmental statistics, and IT workflows are maintained in line with regulatory, professional, and hospital requirements.
Lead quality improvement, audit, accreditation, policy development, and health promotion initiatives in line with national and hospital standards.
Oversee staff recruitment, induction, education, performance management, and professional development, including student supervision and training programmes.
Actively participate in hospital committees, uphold professional conduct, manage complaints effectively, and remain flexible to meet service and organisational needs.
Requirements BSc in Clinical Measurement Science or an equivalent recognised qualification.
Ideally a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience in a Non-Invasive Cardiology Department, including significant experience in the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory.
Demonstrated expertise in echocardiography, stress testing, electrophysiology, cardiac ablation, and cardiac pacing.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Strong foundational and applied knowledge of cardiology.
Proven clinical competence and relevant experience within a cardiology service.
Excellent organisational skills with a proactive and results-oriented approach to role-specific responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, showing motivation and innovation in practice.
Capacity to contribute to service development at both professional and managerial levels.
Up-to-date knowledge of developments and best practice within the specialised cardiology field.
