The Chapter Leader is a strategic role that requires strong leadership and technical skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading cross-functional teams, developing software engineers, and driving growth through personal expertise.
* Lead, coach, mentor and develop a team across multi functional disciplines such as software engineering, test automation, systems analysis, and scrum mastery
* Collaborate with other leaders to establish engineering standards and best practices, influence strategic decisions and build solutions in your area
* Directly manage a team that primarily works within autonomous squads and ensure alignment on the how of the work performed
* Drive continual growth of team members and their knowledge areas
* Develop personal expertise to bring the latest thinking to empower others
Requirements:
* 10+ years experience in delivering software using agile development practices
* Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing people and teams across multi functional disciplines such as software engineering, test automation, systems analysis, and scrum mastery
* Experience identifying and hiring talent needs; and resource planning and talent allocation across large organisations
* Proven knowledge and experience of engineering principles, patterns and practices and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with which you build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organisation
* Committed people leader capable of developing others to accelerate and achieve increased skill proficiency
* Data-driven approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic trade-off analyses
* Strong technical proficiency with database technologies, large data platforms and OOP; previous software development experience in some of the following is highly desirable
* Experience with database technologies, such as Snowflake, Oracle etc is essential
* Experience in Object-Oriented Software development with Java and/or Python
* Experience with Spark (Java or Scala), use of AWS EMR as the infrastructure for execution both an advantage
* Experience in Cloud technologies (AWS), including Docker and EKS
* Experience building scalable and robust ETL data flows
Key Qualifications:
* 10+ years experience in software delivery
* Leadership experience in cross-functional teams
* Technical proficiency in database technologies and OOP
