This is not just an IT role; it is an opportunity to shape the technological foundation of a high-growth, high-performance business powering the digital economy and critical infrastructure. The role combines responsibilities such as SAP Administration and in-house IT management, making the successful candidate the primary contact for IT strategy, support, and systems optimisation.
CEL has Managed Service Provider (MSP) partnerships with third-party experts and a helpdesk to support our networks and users. The Business Systems & IT Manager will manage these partnerships, ensuring services align with CEL’s operational needs and growth. You will oversee hardware, software, cloud services, telephony, and enterprise applications, driving integration, security, and digital transformation.
This strategic role focuses on management and long-term technology alignment rather than day-to-day troubleshooting. You will work with major system providers like SAP, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Microsoft, EPLAN, and telephony/IP providers to ensure our IT strategy supports scalable and secure growth. Your leadership will ensure seamless IT operations, governance, and future-ready systems that scale with the company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT & Hardware Management
* Oversee all hardware assets including laptops, desktops, tablets, phones, printers, access points, firewalls, and authentication devices.
* Maintain a central inventory system for hardware lifecycle and security compliance.
* Develop and enforce procurement and maintenance policies.
1. Business Systems & Software
* Lead SAP ERP administration, ensuring seamless integration with third-party providers.
* Manage Microsoft 365 and enterprise applications, overseeing licensing, updates, and user adoption.
* Ensure data security and operational efficiency across systems.
2. Communications & Infrastructure
* Maintain secure, high-performance IT networks, including internet and intranet solutions.
* Oversee secure access control, remote work, and cross-site collaboration.
* Manage Follow-Me voice services for uninterrupted communication.
3. Systems Integration & API Management
* Oversee SAP and third-party software integrations for smooth workflows.
* Manage API connections for real-time data exchange.
4. End-User Support & Training
* Oversee MSP helpdesk support, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
* Organise IT training sessions for users to enhance proficiency and security awareness.
5. Operational Excellence & IT Governance
* Define SLAs for support, hardware, and software updates.
* Establish uptime guarantees and support windows for critical systems.
6. Monitoring & Reporting
* Implement real-time hardware, software, and network performance monitoring.
* Provide regular reports on system health, support efficiency, and security.
7. Security & Compliance
* Develop cybersecurity protocols including firewalls, antivirus, and data encryption.
* Ensure GDPR and data protection compliance.
8. Scalability & Futureproofing
* Plan infrastructure upgrades aligned with growth.
* Assess emerging technologies and implement innovative, future-ready solutions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Strategic IT Leadership
o Proven experience in IT management, enterprise systems, and business systems administration.
