Director of Cyber Defence – SOC & Incident Response
The Director of Cyber Defence will be responsible for leading and evolving the organisation’s global cyber defence capability across SOC operations, incident response and threat management within a complex, high-growth international enterprise. This newly established leadership role is suited to a senior cyber security professional with strong operational expertise across Security Operations Centres (SOC), incident response, threat hunting, detection engineering and cyber resilience. You will be instrumental in shaping next‑generation cyber defence capabilities, improving global detection and response maturity, and enhancing the organisation’s ability to respond to advanced threats at scale.
Working closely with the Group CISO and senior leadership stakeholders, the Director will define and execute a global cyber defence strategy aligned to NIST CSF 2.0, while driving excellence across SOC operations, incident response coordination, threat intelligence, and security monitoring across multiple regions and brands.
Responsibilities
Lead global SOC, incident response and threat detection across 14 international brands.
Report directly to the Group CISO, shaping enterprise‑wide cyber defence strategy.
Manage and scale a 15‑person cyber defence team in a fast‑paced global environment.
Own global cyber defence, SOC and incident response at the Director level.
Shape enterprise‑wide detection and response capability across the organisation.
Design and evolve a modern SOC operating model, tooling and automation strategy.
Lead global incident response, crisis management and cyber resilience programmes.
Build advanced threat detection, threat hunting and proactive response capability.
Define standardised playbooks, processes and governance aligned to NIST CSF 2.0.
Partner with executive leadership, regulators and senior stakeholders on key cyber initiatives.
Serve as a highly visible leadership role in a fast‑scaling global enterprise.
Skills & Experience
Proven leadership at Head, Director or VP level in SOC and Incident Response environments.
Strong expertise across SOC operations, SIEM platforms, threat detection and incident response.
Proven track record of building and scaling enterprise SOC capabilities in global organisations.
Compensation
Up to €185,000 base salary.
Up to 40 % bonus, pension, healthcare and a comprehensive benefits package.
Hybrid working model based in Dublin.
