NexVentur is seeking a Civil Site Manager to join our clients' team, and oversee the delivery of a civil works package on a substation project based in Maynooth, Co. Kildare.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors and direct labour, and ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.This is an 18-month project involving earthworks, drainage, ducting, concrete works, foundations, and associated infrastructure within a live or high-specification utility environment.The role requires strong leadership, programme management, and coordination skills, with a focus on maintaining project schedules and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.Role and ResponsibilitiesManage daily site operations for the civil package on the substation project.Co-ordinate subcontractors, plant, materials, and workforce to ensure programme targets are achieved.Work closely with the Project Manager, engineers, client representatives, and utility stakeholders.Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.Implement and maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on site.Lead site meetings, toolbox talks, and co-ordination meetings.Monitor progress against programme and provide regular updates to senior management.Oversee site documentation including RAMS, permits, inspections, and daily reports.Manage site logistics and sequencing of works within a live construction environment.Identify and resolve technical or operational issues to minimise delays.Ensure effective communication between all project stakeholders.Support commercial and procurement teams with material scheduling and resource planning.Maintain strong quality control procedures and ensure all snagging items are completed promptly.Skills and ExperienceProven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.Previous experience working on substations, utilities, energy, or heavy civils projects is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of earthworks, reinforced concrete, drainage, ducting, and infrastructure works.Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and site compliance requirements.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts.Proficient in maintaining project records and reporting on progress.Relevant construction or engineering qualification preferred.Safe Pass and SMSTS/SSSTS or equivalent certification required.Full clean driving licence.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment and drive programme delivery.Pay and packageSalary €60,000 - €75,000 depending on experienceCompany vehicle and fuelPension
