Watt Footprint is:An Irish start-up with global ambitions and already on course to become a key disruptor in the energy marketplace. Watt Footprint delivers a complete energy management and savings solution for businesses, from initial feasibility assessment and energy audits to securing grant approvals, managing project upgrades, and delivering verified savings through our software and engineering services.The RoleWe are looking for a fully qualified Company Accountant / Finance Manager to take full ownership of the day-to-day finance function and advise leadership team.This role will suit someone who is highly competent working independently, brings strong structure and common sense to how finances are run, and is equally comfortable with compliance and financial analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting.Beyond monthly accounts, you will play a central role in:Understanding and improving EBITDAAnalysing profitability by service line and productBuilding forecasting and cashflow modelsProviding clear commercial insight to support decision-makingThis is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements. You must be based in Ireland and hold a valid driver's licence. The team meets in person monthly for training and co-working sessions.Roles and ResponsibilitiesCore Finance OperationsManage the full finance function of the businessPrepare and submit monthly VAT and RCT returnsPrepare employee wages, bonuses, and manage payroll (BrightPay)Reconcile accounts payable and receivable and manage bank accountsLiaise with Revenue, external accountants, and internal teamsReporting & ControlsGenerate monthly financial statements (P&L, cashflow, balance sheet)Prepare board-ready financial packs and commentaryImprove and document finance systems and processes as the company scalesCommercial Analysis & Insight (Key Focus)Analyse EBITDA, gross margin, and net margin trendsTrack profitability by service line, product, and customer typeBuild and maintain financial models and forecasts (revenue, costs, cashflow)Identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiativesProvide clear, practical financial insights to support strategic and operational decisionsPartner with leadership on pricing, resourcing, and growth planningRequirementsFully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)3+ years' post-qualified experience, ideally within a startup environmentStrong experience with VAT, RCT, and payrollProven experience producing management accounts and financial analysisCommercially minded with a strong understanding of EBITDA and margin driversExcellent attention to detail and a hands-on, proactive working styleComfortable working independently across a broad range of finance tasksStrong communication skills and ability to explain financial information in plain EnglishExperience using Xero accounting softwareCompensation and BenefitsFlexible (and reasonable) working hours, work/life balance is exceptionally important to usWork laptop and allowance for a remote workspaceProfessional development opportunities, we support individual career ambitionsMonthly team-building workshops and social events23 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) and your birthday off
