Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented RD&I Tax Accountant with subject matter expertise in the Irish tax system, particularly in the areas of corporation tax, R&D tax credits, capital allowances, and grant incentive programs administered by bodies such as IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, and Revenue. This role will support strategic financial planning, optimize access to available incentives, and ensure compliance with relevant tax and funding frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Incentive Strategy & Advisory:
•Identify and evaluate relevant Irish tax credits, grants, and incentive schemes available to the organisation.
•Support business units in structuring activities to align with incentive eligibility criteria.
•Serve as internal subject matter expert on RD&I tax credits, Knowledge Development Box (KDB), and other innovation-related tax regimes.
Financial Analysis & Forecasting:
•Model financial impact of tax reliefs and grant funding on projects and long-term business planning.
•Track and forecast claims and funding receipts across relevant projects.
Stakeholder Engagement:
•Partner with R&D, Legal, Grant Coordinators and Government Affairs teams to support accurate financial claims and documentation.
•Liaise with external advisors, Revenue, and grant-awarding agencies as needed.
•Prepare briefings and materials for senior leadership on opportunities and risks related to tax and grant incentives.
Compliance & Documentation:
•Maintain audit-ready records of supporting financial documentation for tax and grant claims.
•Monitor legislative updates and proactively assess implications for the organisation.

Experience & Education Requirements:
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Taxation, or a related field.
•Minimum 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis or tax advisory, with demonstrated expertise in Irish tax incentives.
•In-depth knowledge of Revenue's R&D tax credit regime, Knowledge Development Box (KDB), and grant application/reporting processes.
•Experience working with IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, or other funding bodies is a strong advantage.
•Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
•Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•Knowledge of intellectual property regulations in Ireland.
•Financial reporting, budgeting, and management expertise.
•Fluency in Microsoft 365 tools and project management software.
Preferred Certifications:
•Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA), Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), or similar financial/tax designation preferred.
