M&E Resident Engineer (Water / Wastewater) Location: Leinster - Dublin or Offaly (Roles available in Cork and Mayo also) Sector: Water / Wastewater Capital Maintenance Employment Type: Permanent Salary: €70,000-€75,000 Role introduction and overview: Our client is seeking experienced M&E Resident Engineers to support the supervision and delivery of key capital maintenance activities within the region across water and wastewater assets. This will include delivery of both below-ground and above-ground works, covering a mix of civil and mechanical & electrical (M&E) projects in the Leinster Region (Dublin and Offaly). This client-side engineering role offers the opportunity to join a well-established global organisation operating across essential infrastructure and utilities, with a focus on maintaining high standards across live project environments. Working within the water and wastewater sector, the successful candidates will provide oversight of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) installations across a varied programme of works. These schemes include reservoir refurbishment, water rehabilitation projects, pumping stations, and water treatment plant upgrades located across Dublin and Offaly These positions will particularly suit Mechanical and Electrical Technicians with strong experience in MEICA delivery within regulated utility or water environments and will include site supervision, HSQE inspections, quality inspections, and daily progress reports to the Interventions Lead. The role will ensure that works are delivered safely, to the required quality standards, and in line with UE Standards and Specs. Key Responsibilities as M&E Resident Engineer: Supervise the installation of M&E / MEICA works on site, monitoring progress and quality of delivery. Report daily to the UE Project Team on site activities, progress, and any emerging issues. Monitor and supervise compliance with the Contractor's Health and Safety Plan. Review on-site works to ensure all installation activities are completed in accordance with project requirements, contract documents, and technical specifications. Provide technical advice and on-site oversight during the delivery of mechanical and electrical installations. Maintain accurate site records and prepare clear, concise reports on project progress, quality, and issues encountered. Check and agree measurement of work and confirm achievement of project milestones. Coordinate with contractors, project stakeholders, and the wider delivery team to support effective project execution. Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience as M&E Resident Engineer Experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. A minimum of 7 years' industry experience in site installation and project delivery of MEICA works. Demonstrable experience in the installation and commissioning of MEICA projects within water or wastewater engineering environments. Strong understanding of Health and Safety procedures and regulations relevant to site-based engineering works. Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems associated with water and wastewater facilities. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders in a team-based project environment.
