We are seeking an experienced Construction Foreman in Sligo.
Responsibilities
Safety & Environment
Implement the company's Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) policies and procedures.
Prepare and deliver Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), Safe Plan of Action (SPA), and toolbox talks.
Ensure all staff and subcontractors complete site inductions and hold valid permits.
Conduct regular HSQE inspections, report findings, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
Manage environmental controls, ensuring compliance with waste and pollution prevention regulations.
Quality
Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
Identify and rectify defects promptly and obtain client sign-off for completed works.
Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required, sharing lessons learned across the team.
Programme & Delivery
Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily site activities, managing plant, labour, and subcontractors.
Support the development of look-ahead programs and ensure delivery milestones are achieved.
Track progress against the master program, identifying and addressing delays or variations.
Commercial & Reporting
Monitor site productivity, control costs, and minimise overtime and material waste.
Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, labour and plant returns, and material usage.
Report project progress and issues to the Site Agent or Project Manager on a regular basis.
People & Stakeholder Management
Lead, supervise, and mentor site operatives and subcontractors.
Ensure all personnel follow site rules and documentation requirements.
Liaise professionally with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience in civil or construction site supervision (groundworks and concrete experience essential).
Proven commitment to health, safety, quality, and cost control.
Certified Site Safety Supervisor (or equivalent qualification).
Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certifications.
Full clean Irish driving licence and legal right to work in Ireland.
Proficiency with RAMS, SPAs, and digital inspection tools (e.g., PowerApps).
Desirable:
Knowledge of traffic management (SLG/LUGS) and possession of relevant CSCS tickets.
