Financial Controller
Location: Wicklow
Onsite 4 days, Post Probation 3 days onsite
We are seeking on behalf of our client a dynamic and results-driven Financial Controller to join their team in Wicklow. Reporting directly and working alongside the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in driving the performance and strategic development of their finance function. This is a hands-on role that requires an experienced professional with a strong commercial mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for fostering growth and efficiency within the finance team.
As the Financial Controller, you will lead and develop a team of four accounts staff, ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and contribute to the company's long-term financial strategy. What You'll Be Doing:
As the Financial Controller, you will:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts for review by the Finance Director.
* Oversee and maintain accurate controls and checks on nominal ledger accounts to ensure seamless month-end preparation.
* Develop and manage short-term and long-term cashflows and annual budgets.
Team Leadership
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and efficiency.
* Drive the Finance department KPIs and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders.
Operational Excellence
* Oversee payroll, supplier, and subcontractor functions to ensure smooth operations.
* Review and authorise payment files on online banking platforms.
* Collaborate with the commercial department to verify accuracy in project cost estimations.
Regulatory Compliance & External Liaison
* Ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance across VAT, tax, and other obligations in multi-jurisdictional settings.
* Prepare documentation and liaise with external auditors, tax advisers, and global payroll advisers.
Strategic Development
* Align financial strategies with long-term business objectives.
* Enhance financial systems, streamline processes, and implement improvements to boost reporting accuracy and efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications & Experience
* ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
* 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
* Proven track record of managing and mentoring teams.
Skills & Competencies
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
* Leadership and team management experience.
* Advanced IT skills, particularly with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Expertise and use of Integrity Evolution is desirable.
* Experience with multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional finance is advantageous.
* Results-driven, innovative, and eager to contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and systems.

Pay: €90,000.00-€110,000.00 per year
