This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment delivering high-profile capital investment projects with tangible public impact.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide professional civil/structural engineering support across multi-annual programmes, including accessibility and refurbishment projects.Prepare and review structural assessments, designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports for new and existing infrastructure, with a focus on bridges and key public structures.Lead sub-projects within major programmes, coordinating internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and quality targets.Monitor on-site construction, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards and project specifications.Maintain and improve structural design office systems, processes, and information management practices.Ensure accurate capture of all work hours against chargeable and non-chargeable items.Represent the organisation at meetings with internal and external stakeholders, supporting decision-making while ensuring adherence to policies and standards.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:Essential:Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in design and project delivery.Strong expertise in structural engineering design software (e.g., Tekla, TEEDS, SLOPE, WALLAP) and design aid tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).Experience working within BIM processes and applying current Civil and Structural Engineering design standards, Eurocodes, and national safety regulations.Full Driver's License and flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings.Desirable:Experience preparing detailed technical reports, specifications, and bills of quantities for complex infrastructure projects.Demonstrable experience in construction site audits, project management procedures, and Health & Safety compliance in a construction environment.WHY THIS ROLE:Work on nationally significant infrastructure projects that positively impact communities.Collaborate with a highly skilled team of engineers, project managers, and technical specialists across multiple disciplines.Opportunity to shape and enhance public sector engineering standards and best practice.Professional development and exposure to innovative design and project management processes.
