Procurement Manager Medical Devices – Cork
AA Euro Group has been retained to recruit a Procurement Manager for a large Medical Devices Company in Cork. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible collaborating with key project stakeholders such as Project Management, Legal, Engineering, EHS, and Quality, implement the sourcing requirements for the project in line with the approved Project Sourcing Strategy.
Main Duties And Responsibilities:
* Support the Work Package Owner in delivering assigned work packages from initiation through to closeout, in coordination with the Sourcing team.
* Ensure all necessary Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) are current and in place with suppliers prior to issuing any work package for bid.
* Select and prequalify suppliers in accordance with the latest approved version of the Project Sourcing Strategy to ensure timely award of work packages aligned with project milestones.
* Maintain comprehensive supplier records including performance reviews, assessments, name changes, and routine data maintenance.
* Negotiate new or updated supply agreements with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with all applicable global, regional, and local governance requirements.
* Coordinate with the Cost Controller and Scheduler to ensure that sourcing-related tasks are accurately reflected in the project schedule and aligned with the Project Sourcing Plan (PSP).
* Maintain key sourcing registers, including but not limited to: Project Sourcing Plan, Purchase Order & Efficiency Register, Invoice Register, and Bid Clarification Registers.
* Ensure supplier invoices are processed in accordance with the agreed invoicing process for the project.
* Provide weekly updates to the Cost Controller and Scheduler on the progress of all assigned sourcing tasks to help assess their impact on the overall project schedule.
* As Procurement Manager, you will deliver monthly cost updates to the Cost Controller for integration into the project costbook and associated reports.
* Manage sourcing-related change control in line with the contractual Change in Obligations provisions, collaborating closely with relevant stakeholders.
* Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for sourcing activities that could affect the critical path of the project.
* Build and maintain supplier relationships, engaging with the wider sourcing and user community to optimize project outcomes.
* Participate in Sustainable Sourcing Initiatives (SSI) for all design, equipment, construction, and technical service sourcing, including automation-related packages.
* Escalate issues to the Regional Sourcing Leader and Project Manager in line with established project governance protocols.
* Record and report savings in accordance with internal cost avoidance and efficiency tracking practices.
* Produce sourcing-related reports as required by the project, including monthly progress updates and Steering Committee briefings.
Preferred Technical Work Experience:
* Experience in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Agora, etc., for generating purchase orders, requisitions, and related documents.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Demonstrated experience managing capital projects sourcing across a portfolio of projects in a multidisciplinary project environment.
* Experience managing a diverse supplier base, including design, construction, equipment, and professional services providers.
* Familiarity with managing project change and administering contracts in strict accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
