Company Intro / Summary A well-established Irish contractor seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Estimator to join their growing team. Responsibilities Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications. Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor elements. Prepare and submit tender documentation within tight deadlines. Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing. Liaise with the Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager, and project teams to ensure consistency of cost information. Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients, consultants, and design teams. Provide input into value engineering and alternative construction methods. Prepare detailed handover documentation once tenders are secured. Support project teams during early project stages with cost advice and procurement strategy. Requirements Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years experience as an Estimator in the construction industry (commercial project experience desirable). Strong knowledge of Irish construction methods, materials, and building regulations. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Buildsoft, Cubit, Causeway) and Microsoft Excel/COINS. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational abilities. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Package €60,000 - €70,000 DOE.
