Role Profile Based in Ballyragget & reporting to the QC Chemistry Laboratory Manager, the role will involve working with a dedicated team of Technicians, Quality Managers and related staff to carry out a range of chemical analysis of food products.
The successful candidate will be based in the laboratories at Ballyragget.
Candidates with experience/aptitude in chemistry will be considered.
This is a shift-based Lab Technician role, with 12-hourshifts across 7 days in a fortnight, including weekends and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities Analysis of a range of dairy products including cheese, butter and dairy powders, using approved analytical methodsEnsure compliance to the internationally recognised approved standard.Successful implementation and participation in internal and external proficiency testingUsing LIMS to carry out all lab activitiesReview and document lab investigations as part of the CAPA programmeValidation of approved test methods and commissioning of new instruments / project worksInternal auditing of quality systems across the siteAnalysis methods for parameters including fat, moisture, protein and salt analysis using both reference and NIR methodsEnvironmental testing of waste waterSensory analysis of final productAdhere to the Tirlán health and safety policies and contribute to its improvementsTraining of new Technician team membersComplete other QC related business needs as/if they occurKey Requirements BSc in Food Science, Science, related discipline or equivalent experienceA strong communicator and ability to work effectively as part of a teamExcellent IT skills, experience of LIMS and statistical analysis desirableAn ability to interpret test data and problem solving skillsGood organisational ability and attention to detailDesire to do further relevant training and improvement.Proven ability to work with their own initiative and within a teamTrack record of Lean Manufacturing and 5S an advantageWe offer · Free parking incl.
