The Employment Development Information Centre Longford (EDIC) is an award-winning community-based social enterprise. For more than 25 years, it has successfully addressed the training and upskilling needs of persons who are most distant from the employment market in the county community. EDIC is committed to the empowerment and development of individuals and communities that will benefit themselves, their families, and the wider community.
The EDI Centre and Revamp 3R Store are seeking to recruit committee members with a background in circular economy/environmental issues.If you have this interest/expertise and are attracted to gaining an insight into the operations, we’re keen to hear from you.
Responsibilities will include the following:
* Regularly reporting to the board withspecific focus on circular economy/environmental issues
* Assist with the creation of various strategies for the organisation to ensure it complies with current legislation and practice.
* Attend board and committee meetings.
* Be informed about the organisation’s vision, mission, services, and policies.
* Be a champion and inform others about the organisation.
* Serve on sub-committees of interest.
* Inputting to the strategic direction, contributing with insight, oversight, and experience of strategy formulation in other sectors.
Essential Experience:
* An understanding of and commitment to our mission and values
* Interest/expertise in circular economy/environmental issues
Time Commitment:
* There will be 10-12 board meetings and sub-committee meetings per year.
* Meetings are held EDI Centre, 11 A2 Mastertech Business Park, Athlone Rd, Longford
* Opportunity for hybrid meeting (online/in person) max 4 per year.The EDI Centre is seeking officers for their Board of Management with skills, knowledge, and interests in the areas of business.
