SummaryLead the finance function at our European-leading sous-vide production site in IrelandThe RoleSofina Foods is looking for a talented Interim Financial Controller (12 months FTC) to take ownership of the finance function at our highly successful, European-leading sous-vide production site. This is a key role within our rapidly expanding Irish consumer foods business, providing financial governance and supporting the site as a centre of excellence within Sofina.Reporting to the Finance Director (Value Add Pork), you'll work closely with operations, site management, and central commercial and finance teams to ensure the financial impact of all operational and commercial decisions is understood and managed effectively. Leading the site finance team, you'll drive best practice, benchmark performance, and support strategies for growth and profitability.If you're a qualified accountant with FMCG manufacturing experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment, this role offers you the chance to lead, influence, and make a measurable impact.Please note that this role is a fixed term contract for 12 months (maternity cover), and is based full time onsite in Fethard.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a key partner to the Finance Director, Operations Director, and site management teamShare and adopt best practice by collaborating with Sofina finance leads across sitesSupport strategic growth while maximising shareholder returnsLead working capital planning and improve site cash flow performanceProvide financial governance in line with IFRS, ensuring accurate reporting and recordsReconcile and audit financial control information for site, business unit, and group reportingAssess the financial impact of commercial and operational matters, maximising category performanceDrive continuous improvement in financial processes and systemsLead, motivate, and develop the site finance team, ensuring objectives, reviews, and development plans are in placeRepresent your site at functional meetings in our European Head Office in Malton (2 -3 days per month)The Ideal CandidateFully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent with post qualification experience.FMCG finance experience within food manufacturing (preferably, fresh, chilled, frozen).Progressive track record of successfully operating at director/controller level within a food environment.Previous experience of managing senior financial personnel.Strong IT and systems knowledge with a skill set to effectively implement financial software projects.Strong communication skills with the capability to communicate confidently internally and externally.Good team working skills.Able to work within an agreed established framework and cope with pressure, taking responsibility for decisions and owning the account plansStrong attention to detail and ability to report accuratelyDemonstrable skills of managing and developing a teamHigh levels of professionalism, integrity and ethical awarenessDetermined and resilient, with the drive to complete tasksExcellent analytical and numeric skills together with the ability to identify and interpret market trendsPreferred experience:FMCG finance experience within the meat industryCompany InformationSofina Foods isn't just a food company - It's a place to build your future.With a team of over 13,000 people across 40 sites in Canada and Europe, we're passionate about delivering quality meats and seafood products to consumers around the world.Join a company where innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction drive everything we do.
