ATG are seeking an experienced and innovative Precast Design Engineer to join a North Dublin-based engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and detailing precast concrete elements for a variety of construction projects, including commercial, residential, and infrastructure developments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural design, with specific experience in precast concrete, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed designs and specifications for precast concrete elements, ensuring structural integrity, durability, and compliance with local building codes.
- Create and review technical drawings, models, and design documents using CAD software and BIM tools.
- Coordinate closely with architects, contractors, and project stakeholders to integrate precast designs into overall project plans.
- Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure design meets project requirements and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to production teams during the manufacturing process.
- Conduct site visits to assess design implementation and address any technical issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to optimize design efficiency, reduce costs, and improve sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in precast design and structural engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, Tekla, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, structural design principles, and best practices for precast concrete.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify innovative and practical design solutions.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a collaborative approach to project delivery.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards in design and execution.
