The Company
Market leading financial services firm seeking to hire a Senior Credit Underwriter for SME Lending.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and approve complex SME credit applications, conducting detailed financial, cashflow and covenant analysis to ensure prudent lending decisions aligned with internal risk frameworks.
* Lead the underwriting process for higher-value and non-standard cases, providing guidance to junior underwriters and ensuring all proposals meet policy, regulatory and compliance requirements.
* Prepare clear, commercially focused credit papers for Credit Committee, articulating risks, mitigants, security structures and recommended terms.
* Monitor portfolio performance and early warning indicators, proactively identifying deteriorating cases and collaborating with Relationship Managers to implement corrective actions.
Key Skills Required
* 5+ years' experience in credit underwriting within SME lending, commercial lending, asset finance or non-bank lending, with a strong track record of assessing complex cases.
* Strong financial analysis capability, including interpreting management accounts, cashflow forecasts, covenants, security structures and sector-specific risks.
* Sound understanding of Irish SME lending regulations and ideally familiarity with non-bank lender credit frameworks, underwriting models and risk appetite.
