Job Description:
The Role
We're looking for a motivated IT Support / System Administrator to join our expanding onsite team located in Kilrush, Co. Clare. This role is perfect for someone with 1–2 years experience who wants to grow their skills in IT support, systems administration, and cloud services.
You'll work closely with experienced technicians, supporting clients both remotely and on-site throughout Clare and beyond. We're seeking someone curious, technically minded, and eager to build a career in IT systems administration.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1st and 2nd line support for Windows and macOS devices
* Support end users both remotely and on-site as required
* Assist with administration of Microsoft 365, including Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams
* Manage user accounts and permissions via Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory
* Configure and manage Intune and basic security policies
* Help maintain and administer Windows and Linux servers under supervision
* Learn and support virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V)
* Participate in maintaining client networks (LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls)
* Assist with basic web server management (e.g., Apache, Nginx)
* Monitor systems using RMM tools and respond to alerts
* Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge base articles
* Work toward certification goals as part of your professional development
Requirements
* 1–2 years' experience in an IT support role
* Comfortable supporting Windows 10/11 and macOS environments
* Basic experience with Microsoft 365 administration
* Understanding of user and group management via Active Directory or Entra ID
* Interest in developing skills in systems administration (servers, virtualisation, networking)
* Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
* Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently or as part of a team
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for occasional site visits
Desirable (but not required)
* Exposure to virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V)
* Experience with RMM or EDR tools
* Familiarity with Linux systems (Ubuntu, CentOS)
* Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
