Responsible to Head and Sous Chef
We are looking for an experienced chef to manage a specific station in the kitchen, grill or pastry, overseeing food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain quality and standards.
Key duties include, but are not limited to, executing mise en place, supervising junior cooks, ensuring food hygiene, minimising waste, and collaborating with the Head and Sous chef.
Key Responsibilities
* Station Management: Take responsibility for a designated section of the kitchen, preparing and cooking all dishes assigned to that station.
* Quality Control: Ensure all food prepared meets the restaurant's standards for taste, consistency, and presentation.
* Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to recipes and the restaurant's culinary standards.
* Supervision: Train, supervise, and motivate junior chefs (such as Commis Chefs) working on your station or in the kitchen.
* Hygiene and Safety: Adhere to and enforce all health, safety, and hygiene standards, including HACCP guidelines.
* Waste Management: Monitor food and operating costs, and implement strategies to reduce waste.
* Inventory & Ordering: Assist with managing supplies, placing timely orders, and ensuring ingredients are readily available.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other chefs, including the sous chef and head chef, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

* Culinary Expertise: Excellent cooking skills and a thorough understanding of different cooking techniques and kitchen processes.
* Organisational Skills: The ability to organise your section, manage tasks efficiently, and prepare for busy service periods.
