POST TITLE: Business Development Manager
LOCATION: Connacht Rugby, Dexcom Stadium, Galway
CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time, 2-year fixed-term contract
Role and Purpose of Position
The Business Development Manager is a full time, fixed term position based at Connacht Rugby, Galway, Ireland; and is charged with the sales and execution of all Corporate Alliances (including, but not limited to stadium advertising, player sponsorships, premium business packages and some partnerships), within Connacht Rugby. Additionally, the candidate will, from time to time, be responsible for servicing certain aspects of these partnerships. The candidate must be operationally excellent and have a thorough understanding of the sales process and client management, as well as the quality required of premium service levels. Previous experience of selling and servicing corporate partners would be highly valuable.
Responsibilities
Lead the sales and renewals process of Corporate Alliances for Connacht Rugby.
Assist the Senior Commercial Manager in lead generation for both the Partnerships, Suppliers and Alliances sales pipeline.
Manage the process of reporting to the Head of Commercial & Marketing and the wider business on the health of the renewal sales process by income channel.
Identify new revenue opportunities with existing partners that increase revenue and profitability.
In conjunction with the Senior Commercial Manager and Senior Marketing Manager, develop the necessary sales materials and presentations for all sales assets.
From time to time, assist the Senior Commercial Manager and the Partner Services & Events Manager with the management and servicing of certain clients and running and execution of certain events.
Assist with the sales of other special events as they arise e.g. golf days, hospitality, meetings, forums etc.
Other duties as assigned by the Head of Commercial & Marketing from time to time.
Experience / Background
A degree level qualification in Business/Marketing/Business Development or related field is desirable.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a sales and operational delivery role.
Clear experience in successful operational delivery of partnership rights.
Clear experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Skills / Abilities
Have natural sales ability with a highly organised sales methodology.
Have first class relationship building skills.
Possess a fastidious attention to detail.
Operationally focused, with the ability to deliver on agreed benefits and targets in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
The ability to multi-task and successfully manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously.

Reporting Relationships
The position will report directly to the Senior Commercial Manager.
Working Pattern
The successful candidate will be expected to work appropriate hours to fully carry out their responsibilities. The nature of the work is such that these hours may be irregular or outside the norm i.e., during evenings and at weekends (including Sundays).Hybrid working options are available in line with our Hybrid Working Policy.
