Position Overview
The Mechanical Engineer in the R&D team will focus on the design, development, and testing of innovative cooling systems for data centers. This role requires a solid background in mechanical engineering, strong problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing cooling technologies to address the growing demands of data center operations.
Primary Responsibilities
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of new products.
* Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user guides.
* Provide engineering support during the production and implementation phases of new cooling solutions.
* Participate in design reviews and drive continuous improvement efforts within the R&D team.
* Work closely with the R&D lab to conduct performance testing and validate prototypes, recording results and refining designs based on outcomes.
* Assist with prototype assembly to gain practical insights and drive design enhancements.
* Proficiency in HVAC system and component knowledge.
* Extensive experience in mechanical system design, particularly in an OEM environment.
* Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
* Excellent skills in documentation, project management, and organization.
* Hands-on experience in prototype development, testing methods, and data analysis.
* Expertise in sheet metal and piping system design.
* Familiarity with process cooling water and refrigeration system design (highly desirable).
* Proficiency in SolidWorks.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* A minimum of five years of experience in mechanical design and development.
