Intermediate Quantity Surveyor - Opportunity for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor in Cork to join our client’s Life Science team.
As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will work alongside the Project Commercial Manager and the client’s team, responsible for various tasks.
Responsibilities:
* Familiarity with industrial piping and electrical systems.
* Evaluating and agreeing on project scope variations with contractors and clients.
* Compiling and agreeing on final accounts.
* Reporting to the Project Commercial Team.
* Supporting the SQS & MQS commercial functions, including preparing tenders, analyzing, selecting subcontractors, negotiating, and managing subcontractor accounts to final account completion.
* Maintaining site records and document control.
* Managing site measurement records.
* Assisting in preparing forecasts, targets, and CV reconciliations.
* Handling valuations and variations with proper records and details.
* Updating projected Final Accounts and submitting them timely.
* Liaising with site management to influence and challenge commercially.
* Maintaining and protecting JSS commercial and contractual entitlements.
* Understanding and participating in CVR processes.
* Reviewing risks and opportunities.
* Developing understanding of insurances and warranties.
* Ensuring good cash management.
* Supporting tender processes as required.
* Managing and overseeing AQS & TQS work, including checking and taking responsibility for their work.
* Maintaining site records and control documents.
Experience:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency with various technology platforms.
* Familiarity with the Standard Method of Measurement.
* Ownership and commercial awareness.
* Effective time management, organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
* Experience in Building Services is advantageous but not essential.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Qualifications:
* Degree-level education and working towards relevant professional accreditation.
* JCT qualification.
* Skills in letter and report writing, negotiation, CVRs, safety appreciation, and contract/commercial understanding.
* Membership or familiarity with CIOB is desirable.
