Mechanical Construction Manager – Process Piping
At Dornan, we are currently recruiting for a highly experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead major piping and mechanical installation activities across complex industrial projects.
This role is ideally suited to someone with 10+ years’ experience managing large‑scale mechanical and piping scopes, with a deep technical background in process piping systems. You will play a key leadership role on site, ensuring our projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Role Overview
The Mechanical Construction Manager will oversee all mechanical and piping construction activities on significant industrial projects. This position requires strong process piping expertise, the ability to drive multidisciplinary teams, and a proven track record delivering complex construction packages in a fast‑paced environment.
Oversee daily mechanical and piping construction activities, ensuring alignment with project schedules, safety standards, and quality requirements.
Review piping drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and specifications; provide technical direction to the site team and subcontractors.
Coordinate closely with engineering, planning, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to resolve technical issues quickly and maintain workflow.
Lead site meetings, monitor progress, track performance metrics, and report on project milestones or risks.
Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring correct installation of process piping systems and compliance with project documentation.
Drive safety culture on‑site by conducting toolbox talks, audits, and ensuring all mechanical works adhere to safety protocols.
What We Are Looking For
A seasoned Mechanical Construction professional with 10+ years managing large‑scale piping projects in sectors such as pharma, biotech, industrial, or chemical.
Deep technical expertise in process piping systems, including fabrication, installation, testing, and QA/QC.
Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors.
Strong skills in reviewing P&IDs, isometrics, piping drawings, and technical specifications, with the ability to identify issues early.
Excellent communication and leadership capabilities, with a track record of resolving technical challenges under pressure.
A proactive, safety‑driven professional with a history of delivering complex mechanical scopes safely, on schedule, and to exceptional quality standards.
