Our client is currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support equipment and processes used in the production of high-reliability electronic circuit card and system assemblies. The role focuses on equipment sustainment, yield improvement, new product introduction support, and continuous improvement within a Lean manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide day-to-day technical support and maintenance for SMT, PTH, and systems assembly equipment.
2. Monitor build quality, identify yield issues, and implement corrective actions.
3. Ensure equipment safety, preventative maintenance compliance, and maximum uptime across production and inspection equipment.
4. Support NPI activities, including equipment programming, debugging, and ordering of stencils, jigs, and fixtures.
5. Program and debug computer-controlled manufacturing and inspection equipment.
6. Manage equipment spares, housekeeping, and work area organisation.
7. Support lean product flows, process improvements, new equipment installation, and additive manufacturing initiatives.
8. Train technicians and operators as required.
9. Adhere to all health, safety, and risk assessment requirements.
10. Take a leadership role during shifts to maintain productivity and throughput.
11. Travel as required for new equipment selection.
Experience
12. Minimum 2+ years in a certified electronics manufacturing environment applying Lean principles.
13. Qualified trades personnel with relevant industrial experience will be considered.
14. Education
15. Level 6 qualification in Electronics, Mechanical/Automation Electrical, Technology, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
