Electrician – Water & Wastewater Sector (Galway/Sligo Area)

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our Operations Division, specializing in the Water & Wastewater sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and qualified electrician to work across multiple sites, providing preventative and reactive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting services.
This role offers diversity in tasks and the chance to work with advanced instrumentation and control systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative and reactive maintenance within the water and wastewater industry
Calibrate and service on-site instrumentation, including pH meters, Dissolved Oxygen probes, and other monitoring equipment
Verify motor and instrumentation signals to Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and PLCs, including control function verification
Diagnose and troubleshoot control panel faults, following control panel schematics
Install, wire, commission, and configure variable speed drives (VSDs), DOL, and star-delta starters
Collaborate with project supervisors and managers to provide electrical solutions and ensure proper implementation on-site
Complete daily reports, health and safety documentation, and maintain accurate service records
Key Competencies and Skills
Minimum of 3–5 years' experience as an Electrician, ideally in the industrial/water & wastewater sector
Hands-on experience with instrumentation, including water monitoring equipment
Strong technical knowledge of 3-phase motors, pumps, dosing pumps, and associated instrumentation
Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation faults, including control panel diagnostics
Familiarity with PLCs, automation, and telemetry systems is a strong advantage
Experience with pumps, motors, dosing equipment (including pumps and controllers), control panels, and instruments
Understanding of treatment processes used in water and wastewater management
Proficient in using computers for reporting and documentation
Qualifications
Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation qualification is essential
Registration with Safe Electric as a QC is an advantage
Full clean driving license
