Business Development Manager - Sales Role
About the Job
This leading hotel group is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join their sales team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across various segments.
Main Responsibilities:
* Represent the hotels at sales team meetings, internal & external customer-led events as appropriate.
* Execute a proactive sales plan to develop and nurture new accounts across all owned segments for the hotels.
* Identify and manage new opportunities in the market in line with hotels' strategy and across the wider group portfolio.
* Collaborate with the Account Management Team to nurture existing and secure new opportunities.
* Foster a culture of cross-selling, referrals, and sharing of leads.
* Adopt a strategic approach for key segments and identify opportunities to drive revenue and reduce costs.
* Participate in all sales activities including telesales, sales calls, corporate entertaining, fam trips, social events, and overseas sales trips, as necessary.
* Work with senior sales management on rate strategy, budget planning, forecasting for owned segments, and identifying & analysing opportunities.
* Monitor monthly corporate account production, identify decreases, and take necessary actions.
* Analyse GDS production reports & market intelligence to develop new leads in collaboration with senior sales management.
* Produce timely monthly & ad hoc reports.
* Implement actions from quarterly sales activity plans to support business needs.
The Ideal Candidate
* Minimum two years' experience in a similar hotel sales role.
* Commercial awareness with strong analytical skills to understand & identify business trends.
* Excellent organisation and planning skills.
* Proficiency with sales tools such as CRM, BI tools, Market Intelligence tools, Solver.
* Results-driven and sales-focused.
* Ability to develop long-lasting relationships through account management and promote cross-selling across the group.
* Experience working with global clients & agencies.
* Knowledge of the market is desirable.
