We are seeking a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a pharmaceutical project in Tralee. This role involves managing all aspects of cost control and commercial reporting, including subcontractor applications, site variations and commercial administration.
Responsibilities
* Review, assess, and certify monthly subcontractor payment applications.
* Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor variations, reworks, and claims.
* Validate and manage dayworks and star rates per contract terms.
* Track and cost site instructions; ensure inclusion in subcontractor accounts.
* Identify, log, and manage all project variations.
* Prepare and agree VOs/compensation events with management.
* Assist with interim valuations and final accounts.
* Analyse site event records for commercial implications.
* Support monthly cost reporting, budget control, and cash flow forecasting.
* Collaborate with project and commercial teams to ensure cost accuracy.
* Contribute to project risk and opportunity assessments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 3-5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally on industrial or large-scale projects.
* Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (degree or equivalent).
* Strong track record in subcontractor account management and final accounts.
* In-depth understanding of contracts such as RIAI, NEC, JCT or similar.
* Excellent knowledge of cost control and commercial processes.
* High proficiency in Excel and commercial reporting tools.
* Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
