Job Purpose:
As a highly developed Service Engineer, you will have broad experience and training in supporting non-intrusive detection products.
You must be team-oriented, flexible, and willing to share information and assist peers.
You should possess advanced electromechanical product training, including technical and operator training, and be capable of conducting operator-level training for end users.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, along with solid electronic repair troubleshooting methodology and at least an intermediate level of product knowledge.
This role is based at Dublin Airport, working Monday to Friday, with flexibility to cover shifts due to leave, sickness, or training.
Occasional travel to Cork Airport is also required.
You must be cross-trained on all company products and able to service them at Dublin International Airport.
Willingness to work on special, high-visibility projects and to resolve common-mode problems independently or with team support is necessary.
Basic PC application skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required for providing clear information summaries.
You will troubleshoot, service, install, and repair equipment across airport sites, maintain service logs, and support shift teams.
Conduct follow-up calls with customers to check system status.
Key Duties:
Meet daily service repair needs and ensure customer satisfaction
Install, repair, and maintain equipment on-site; provide customer training
Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs; submit paperwork promptly
Order, install, and manage repair parts cycle time
Review logs for issues; prepare reports for customers
Participate in service sales opportunities and promote revenue programs
Maintain tools and test equipment
Assess product performance and recommend improvements
Provide technical support to customers and colleagues
Participate in site surveys, pilot programs, meetings, and special projects
Maintain technical knowledge of company products
Communicate clearly and professionally in business interactions
Collaborate closely with Dublin Airport team leads and product specialists
Control and minimize costs
Support shift teams with travel, overtime, and outside hours as needed
Comply with health, safety, and environmental policies
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
Technical training or equivalent experience (degree, ONC, HNC, etc.)
Experience with mechanical and air-conditioning systems desirable
Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems
Proficiency in MS Office; aptitude for learning specialized software
Use of metrology and handheld tools
Knowledge of PC applications, Maximo, and reporting tools
