The Eyre Square Hotel has a great opportunity for a Linen Porter to join the Accommodation team. As Linen Porter you will work closely with the other members of the team, providing a high level of service to guests and keeping all areas of responsibility in an excellent standard.
Responsibilities
· Assist the Accommodation team to effectively organize and distribute the linen and supplies needed during the daily and weekly operation of the hotel as a quality accommodation provider
· Adhere to all Eyre Square Hotel & Byrne Hotel group policies with a specific focus for Accommodation and the Front Office
· Warmly greet all guests (by name if known) as they arrive and depart the Hotel and in your day to day interactions.
· Anticipate guest needs through observation and offer prompt, efficient service either personally or through effective communication with the Accommodation team leader/supervisor, front desk team members and the manager on duty
· Carry guest luggage as required and escort guests to rooms
· Deal with all guest requests promptly, taking personal responsibility to ensure guest satisfaction
· Handle any complaints promptly and efficiently; if unable to do so you should advise your immediate supervisor of the issue and assist if needed from there to ensure a positive outcome
· Strive to implement the Byrne Group vision and demonstrate active use of the Core Values
· Regular checks of the linen stores, accommodation trolleys, guest corridors, cleaning of guest and back of house areas, ensuring Foyer area (including entry/exit doors) remains clean and presentable at all times
· Take responsibility for hotel deliveries especially our linen deliveries and ensure that these deliveries are put away safely and hygienically in their correct storage areas
· Ensure Fire Exits are kept clear of any soiled linen or guest trays
· All toilet and PA areas must be cleaned last before departing for the day
· Take ownership of the linen coming in and exiting the building. Orders to be completed on PW before 12 for delivery the following day. Reject Linen to be recorded. Working with the Accommodation team leaders is an essential a part of this responsibility
· Housekeeping & the Food & Beverage Store Rooms are included in responsibilities of the Linen Porter. You must make sure each employee using the store rooms leaves it in a clean and operational way by removing rubbish and / or fulfilling a cleaning schedule
· Report any issues / damage around the hotel
· Maintain / Report any H&S or fire safety issues without hesitation
· Explain room and Hotel facilities to guests and answer any questions
· Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions provided
· Perform any additional duties as requested by the Hotel Manager
· Work as and where directed by other Management, following all reasonable requests
Experience and skills
· Previous experience in a similar role
· Good organizational skills
· Operates to a very high-quality standard
· Strong team player with a positive attitude
· Ability to remain calm whilst under pressure
· Fluent in English
