I am working closely with a well established construction contractor in North Dublin, who are currently looking to hire a
Buyer
to join their growing team.
This is a good opportunity for someone who understands construction procurement and enjoys being close to live projects, dealing with suppliers, negotiating pricing, and making sure materials are where they need to be, when they need to be there.
The company delivers a steady pipeline of construction projects and has built a strong reputation for quality and reliability. They're now looking to strengthen their procurement function with a commercially aware Buyer who can support project delivery from a purchasing perspective.
The role is office-based in Balbriggan
with regular supplier and site interaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Sourcing and purchasing construction materials, plant, and equipment
* Obtaining and comparing supplier quotations to ensure best value
* Negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
* Placing purchase orders and tracking deliveries
* Building and maintaining supplier relationships
* Supporting project teams to ensure procurement aligns with programme requirements
* Monitoring costs and helping control budgets
* Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentatio
What They're Looking For
* Experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within construction or a related industry
* Good knowledge of construction materials and supply chains
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* Commercial awareness and cost-conscious mindset
* Organised approach with good attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple priorities across different projects
