Hours of Work: 39 hours weekly, Monday to Friday

Bloomfield Hospital is a 131‑bed inpatient mental health service, registered as an approved centre with the Mental Health Commission. Our ethos is rooted in honouring the dignity of every person who comes through our doors.
Bloomfield Hospital provides a spectrum of neuropsychiatric services to adults with a range of serious and enduring mental health needs such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Huntington’s Diseases, as well as individuals with early onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. We are the only facility in Ireland that provides a high level of specialised care for people with Huntington’s disease.
In Bloomfield Hospital there is a focus on creating a therapeutic environment by using recovery‑oriented clinical practices and therapeutic interventions, which are evidence‑based, to enable and support patients to achieve their highest level of functioning and quality of life. This care is delivered through a Multidisciplinary Team including colleagues in Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, and General Practice.

Purpose of the Post
The Quality and Patient Safety Manager will support the Head of Quality, Risk and Compliance with the development and implementation of systems that ensure safe, effective, and person‑centred care in line with the regulatory and legislative requirements of (but not limited to) the Mental Health Act, Mental Health Commission, Health Services Executive, Health and Safety Authority.
This role will lead in the coordination of the collection, management, analysis and reporting of all quality, risk and patient safety information from multiple sources and databases and provide reports and insights to drive continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Quality and safety operational management
Analyse incidents and complaints to identify and support continuous improvement
Support audits and risk management processes, and ensure data integrity across systems
Contribute to policy development, staff training, and the promotion of a strong quality and safety culture
Support incident investigations, regulatory reporting requirements, and complaints management
Deputise for the Head of QRC when required

Ideal Candidate

Significant experience in healthcare quality, safety, data and risk management
Strong analytical, reporting and IT skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience of report writing
Working knowledge of Mental Health Commission requirements in relation to mental health services
Strong organisational skills with demonstrated attention to detail
Problem‑solving abilities with a proactive, solution‑focused approach that is evidence and data based
A proven capacity to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities within tight deadlines
Demonstrated delivery of service improvements in line with best practice and regulatory standards
