Clarin service provides a number of community based residential services in and around the Clarinbridge area. We offer individualised services, centre‑based day services and community‑based‑day and residential services to adults with high support needs, based on personal outcome measures. Our focus is to build relationships and partnerships with individuals and their families to enable them to be valued citizens in their local community and to have ordinary life experiences.
The Role
The Social Care Worker reports to the Team Leader and serves as a key worker for individuals, providing a safe, secure environment where individuals can participate in community and leisure activities, make choices, and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfils their potential and expectations. In the Team Leader's absence, the Social Care Worker will manage day‑to‑day operations of their service area, providing local leadership and supervision, and will support junior colleagues during evenings, weekends, and across the Clarin Services network.
Location
These posts are assigned to a community group home within the Clarin Services, but the work location may change as required to meet service needs.

Team Leader / Service Coordinator / Area Manager
Qualifications
Social Care worker candidates must be registered with CORU or have an application submitted. Eligible applicants as of the closing date must be:
* Registered, or eligible for registration, on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU.
* Hold a Schedule 3 qualification.
* Hold a comparable qualification recognised by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.
* Meet the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 and submit proof of application for registration with CORU (correspondence received by 30th November 2025).
A full clean manual Driving Licence and, if not already held, a Class D1 Driving Licence (assistance will be provided).
Fluency in verbal and written English is essential.
Experience
Minimum one year's experience working with people with intellectual disabilities. Experience with challenging behaviours, goal setting and programme implementation is desired. Prior experience managing or supervising a small staff team is highly desirable.

Working Hours
Permanent full‑time, 78 hours a fortnight based on a 14‑day duty roster. The role requires working days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers, and some split duty rostering. Night duty work may also be required to meet service needs.
Annual Leave
22 days per annum. Additional service‑related leave is granted after 5 and 10 years of service respectively.
Remuneration
Department of Health Social Care Worker salary scale (01/08/2025) – €40,351 x 10 increments – €55,599 (max) per annum. LSI €56,650 per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
Tenure
Permanent, full‑time, pensionable.
Probation
Probationary period of nine months. Employment may be terminated during probation if the candidate is unsuitable; the period may be extended at the employer's discretion.
