Job Summary
To support our rapid business growth and market development, West Pharmaceutical Services has developed a transformation strategy focused on standardization, simplification, and centralization of global accounting operations. Accordingly, we established an award-winning Global Financial Centre of Excellence in Dublin, Ireland.
Reporting to the Director, Accounting, you will be the Global Process Owner responsible for leading the Global Fixed Asset Team, with team members located at the GFS Ireland site and globally across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
You will play a pivotal role in West’s capital expenditure process, overseeing team performance and providing technical guidance to staff and stakeholders worldwide. Additionally, you will develop an understanding of our strategic direction, contributing to the evolution of policies, procedures, and business plans to support our growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Serve as Global Process Owner for Fixed Assets
* Manage and provide strategic direction to a global team, including remote members
* Lead the team through period-end closings, ensuring compliance with West, SOX, and GAAP policies
* Collaborate with various stakeholders, including local FP&A, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, management, and auditors
* Oversee review and management of AUC/CIP balances for accuracy and SOX compliance
* Ensure proper accounting of lease-related assets
* Support forecasting for assets and capital expenditures
* Lead the achievement of Fixed Asset SLA & KPI targets
* Ensure timely and accurate month-end reconciliations with supporting documentation
* Drive global process improvements to standardize and increase efficiency
* Oversee internal and external reporting of Fixed Asset balances
* Represent GFS in projects and system initiatives, coordinating with consolidation, technical accounting, and group reporting teams
Education
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) preferred
Work Experience
* Minimum 5+ years of PQE, with at least 3 years in management
* Experience in a Shared Service Center within a multinational publicly quoted company
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Working knowledge of US GAAP
* Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems
* Proficiency in MS Office
* Experience with BI tools is advantageous
* Strong leadership and team development skills
* Excellent communication and leadership abilities
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change
* Project management and presentation skills
* Awareness of SOPs related to the role
Travel Requirements
Up to 13 business days per year (approximately 5%)
