ALS Life Sciences has a General Lab Assistant role to join their team. This role will involve working in a department where agars and media are made for the microbiology lab and does not require prior experience as full training will be provided. The ideal candidate will be punctual, willing to learn and happy to work as part of a team.

Working hours and training
Initial training will be provided Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm. After training, normal hours may remain the same or may change to a shift system with hours between 8:00am and 8:00pm or 10:00am to 10:00pm. Shifts rotate: 3 days one week (Wed–Fri) and 4 days the next week (Mon, Tue, Sat & Sun).
General responsibilities
* To perform work to support the operations of the lab, including making up stock for the lab (full training provided).
* Ensure laboratory areas are kept clean and tidy.
* Ensure all operations are carried out safely with due regard to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and procedures.
* Maintain confidentiality with respect to customer information.
* Perform other duties as required.
Essential skills / knowledge / experience
* Positive attitude, strong work ethic and good timekeeping.
* Able to thrive under pressure and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in a laboratory environment would be advantageous but not essential.
