An established, engineering-led organisation in Cavan is seeking an RD&I Project Engineer to join its research and development team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on new product development and continuous improvement projects within a structured, compliant manufacturing environment. The Role Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will manage and deliver RD&I projects from concept through to testing and performance validation. Key responsibilities include: Managing new product development and product improvement projects Mechanical design, prototyping and hands-on testing Analysing test data to optimise product performance and design Preparing technical reports and maintaining accurate documentation Collaborating with manufacturing, quality, technical and operations teams Supporting EN standards, CE marking and ISO compliance requirements Researching emerging technologies and industry trends Reporting on project progress, timelines and results This role will suit an engineer who enjoys practical testing, problem-solving and working closely with cross-functional teams. About You You'll be a proactive and technically strong engineer with a genuine interest in R&D and product development. You'll ideally have: A Level 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline 2+ years' experience in R&D, product development or a similar engineering role Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD Exposure to FEA tools (ANSYS desirable) A hands-on approach to mechanical testing and building test rigs Knowledge of EN standards, certification and regulatory compliance Strong communication and project management skills A full clean driving licence and willingness to travel when required What's on Offer Salary: €45,000 - €65,000, depending on experience Permanent role based in Cavan Exposure to innovative product development projects Strong technical environment with clear career progression If you're looking to build your career in R&D and want a role that combines design, testing and innovation, this opportunity is well worth exploring.
