We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Manager to manage and collect outstanding debts from customers. This role is responsible for establishing new customer accounts in the finance system, performing thorough credit checks using external agencies and internal criteria prior to account activation.
The successful candidate will proactively manage and collect outstanding debts from customers in line with company credit terms. They will draft and send formal written communications to customers requesting overdue payments, work closely with sales representatives to resolve account disputes, billing queries, and ensure alignment on credit-related issues.
This role involves accurately processing customer payments and receipts in the accounting system, reconciling customer accounts and resolving unallocated or disputed payments. The ideal candidate will perform month-end cut-off procedures for accounts receivable, ensuring accurate posting of receipts, and prepare and distribute customer statements in line with month-end schedules.
Requirements
* Proven experience in credit management, accounts receivable, or a similar finance role.
* Strong knowledge of credit risk procedures and customer account management.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in data processing.
