The Opportunity
Our client is a large, globally operating organisation headquartered in Dublin is seeking an experienced Microsoft focused Enterprise Architect to join its senior IT leadership team.
The organisation has recently completed a major technology transformation and is now focused on optimisation, architectural maturity, and the adoption of next‑generation technologies including AI.
This is a senior people‑management role, reporting at executive IT level, with responsibility for defining enterprise architecture direction, governing complex solutions, and shaping long term technology strategy across a modern application, data, and cloud environment.
Core Capability Focus
This role is Microsoft first, with deep emphasis on the Azure ecosystem rather than multi‑cloud generalism. AWS to Azure migration would be a huge benefit. The successful candidate should be focused on native Azure AI capabilities, not Copilot.
The Role
The Enterprise Architect will operate at the intersection of business strategy, enterprise architecture, and technical design, with a strong emphasis on:
Microsoft cloud services
Application and data integration
Analytics and modern data platforms
Pragmatic use of AI to drive measurable business value
Experience & Qualifications
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
Extensive experience in Enterprise and Solution Architecture roles
Strong hands‑on and governance experience on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft platforms
Proven use of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Azure Well‑Architected Framework (WAF)
Deep experience designing modern data and analytics platforms
Practical experience applying AI services in an enterprise environment with appropriate controls
Proven people management experience and senior stakeholder engagement capability
Ability to influence both technical and non‑technical audiences at executive level
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Delivery
Design and govern enterprise and solution architectures primarily on the Microsoft platform
Set architectural direction across application, data, analytics, and cloud landscapes
Architect modern data and analytics platforms leveraging Microsoft Fabric and Azure
Define and govern data integration and orchestration patterns using Azure/Fabric Data Factory
Ensure secure integration with third‑party platforms via APIs and approved connectivity patterns
Embed AI‑enabled capabilities using Microsoft AI services where they deliver clear business outcomes
Drive adoption of Power Platform solutions (Power Apps & Power Automate) within architectural guardrails
Architecture Governance & Leadership
Own and evolve enterprise architecture standards, principles, and reference architectures
Lead, manage, and develop a team of Solution and Domain Architects
Chair and operate architecture governance forums and decision‑making processes
Assure that solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, compliant, and cost‑effective
Partner with senior programme and business leaders on planning, prioritisation, and delivery
Ensure compliance with organisational, regulatory, security, and audit requirements
