Job Opportunity:
A highly experienced infrastructure and utilities contractor is currently seeking a Site Manager with substation experience to join their team.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be part of a highly experienced project delivery team, managing large-scale substation projects. The role includes responsibility for assigning work on systems and ensuring all works are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant standards.
* Prepare and issue work packs; oversee pre-mobilisation activities.
* Plan works including sequencing, outage coordination, and scheduling.
* Liaise with site supervisors to ensure efficient and accurate tele messaging.
* Enforce Safety, Health, Environment, Quality (SHEQ) compliance.
* Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
* Manage fault-related or additional works arising during the project.
* Oversee quality and environmental management on site.
* Supervise multiple crews across electrical and civil disciplines.
* Ensure timely, cost-effective project delivery.
* Monitor resource allocation (labour, materials, equipment).
* Maintain all site safety files and documentation.
* Record all variations (CVIs) during works.
* Conduct regular quality and Health & Safety audits.
Candidate Profile:
* Fully qualified electrician.
* Supervisory experience in live substations (33kV or higher) is essential.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong organisational ability.
* Fluent English (spoken and written).
