Sumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD) is a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC and is growing rapidly as a Centre of Excellence for the bank's universal banking business across EMEA. It provides a range of technology and operational support services, aligned to SMBC's growth, innovation, and transformation strategies.

Role Summary

The role will provide dedicated Application Management support for the Trade & Transaction Reporting (TTR) applications and their associated processes. In addition to day‑to‑day support activities, the role will work closely with product teams, contributing to projects and initiatives across the TTR landscape.

The successful candidate will sit within the Back Office Application Management team, which forms part of a wider support function made up of three sub‑teams: Front Office, Middleware, and Back Office. The Back Office Application Management team supports a broad range of applications and business functions, including Operations, Middle Office, Reconciliations, Trade & Transaction Reporting, Financial Regulatory Reporting, and Compliance.

As part of the wider support function, strong collaboration across all teams is encouraged. The role requires on‑site support within the office environment, with the option for flexible homeworking for part of the week.

Business Area

SMBC Bank International (SMBC BI) and SMBC Nikko Capital Markets form part of the Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG), a global financial institution providing a broad range of wholesale banking and capital markets services.

Together, SMBC BI and SMBC Nikko Capital Markets support the Group's integrated wholesale banking strategy, offering clients a full suite of financial solutions across the UK, Europe, and international markets. The business area operates in a fast‑paced environment requiring a high level of professionalism, strong regulatory awareness, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service.

Position Description

The primary objective of the Application Management team is to deliver efficient application and systems administration, along with high‑quality end‑user support, for the suite of applications and software technologies used across SMBC.

The core focus of the TTR support function is to ensure that all business requests submitted to the team are managed promptly, reliably, and in accordance with established policies and workflows. This structured approach enables the team to maintain consistency and deliver a high standard of service across all support activities.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

As part of the Back Office Application Support team, you will be responsible for a range of day‑to‑day support activities, including:

* Managing user requests and incidents – ensuring end‑to‑end ownership and timely resolution of business queries.
* Batch monitoring – performing daily checks and oversight of key scheduled activities.
* Change management – working with the business to understand issues and collaborating with product teams, development teams, and vendors to deliver effective solutions.
* Vendor management – acting as the primary point of contact for external vendors.
* Audit requests – completing all internal and external audit requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
* Project support – serving as an SME for TTR applications and ensuring project deliverables are released into production in a controlled and compliant manner.
* Release management – provide support for system enhancements across PROD / REL / QA environments
* Infrastructure coordination – working closely with infrastructure teams to maintain stable and reliable business platforms.
* Service delivery alignment – operating within the defined service delivery framework to ensure consistent and high‑quality support.

This role reports to the Back Office Application Management Team Lead, who oversees all Back Office–facing applications. Close collaboration across all Application Management teams is encouraged, with the shared goal of delivering a strong, scalable platform to support future integration and growth within SMBC.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential; -

* Incident & Change Management: Strong understanding of incident and change management processes.
* Batch Processing: Good knowledge of batch processing and associated tools.
* Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with peers and senior stakeholders.
* Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
* Problem Solving: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
* Server Management: Experience managing Windows and/or Linux servers.
* Technical Skills: Working knowledge of MS SQL and / or Oracle SQL (Toad).

Desirable; -

* TTR Knowledge: Understanding of Trade & Transaction Reporting (SFTR, MiFID, EMIR) systems and/or related business processes.
* Service Management Tools: Exposure to ServiceNow, JIRA, and Confluence.
* Batch Tools: Experience with batch processing tools such as AutoSys or Splunk.
* Microsoft Suite: Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft applications.
* Financial Markets: Understanding of financial products and markets (Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives).
* Application Support: Previous experience working within an Application Support team.

Systems / Applications; -

* Support/Development applications – AutoSys / Splunk / Power Shell / Service Now / Perforce / UrbanCode
* Business applications – Message Automation / S&P GRRS / DTCC GTR / Unavista
