We value passion, motivation, and problem-solving skills, and we believe that diverse perspectives fuel better outcomes.About the Role:The Quality Control Manager is responsible for managing the Irish and European Quality Supervisors and Document Control teams. Their objective is to ensure all H&MV projects across Ireland and Europe are delivered in line with H&MV's quality control processes and procedures, meeting client expectations and supporting project payment milestones.This role ensures that quality management systems are fully implemented across all projects in the region, driving consistency and excellence in execution. The QC Manager will delegate and oversee tasks across Quality Control Inspectors, civil, and electrical teams to maintain a uniform standard across projects. The goal is to deliver works of the highest quality, strengthen client trust, and secure repeat business.Key Responsibilities:Regional Leadership & CollaborationLead and manage the Irish and European Quality Supervisor and Document Control teams.Drive collaboration between QC Supervisors and site teams across Ireland and Europe.Keep the Regional Operations Manager informed of any quality concerns or risks.Quality Systems & StandardsEnsure all projects comply with H&MV quality standards, client specifications, and relevant EU regulations.Guarantee alignment with ISO 9001 standards in collaboration with the Compliance Department.Oversee implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for civil and electrical disciplines on all Irish and European projects.Project Oversight & ImplementationReview and approve civil and electrical ITPs prior to construction; ensure they are followed without unauthorized modifications.Monitor ITP completion and tracker updates to maintain consistency across all regional projects.Ensure construction kick-off meetings are held with subcontractors and external designers.Manage root cause analysis for major quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.Conduct audits on civil and electrical works via MyHub across Irish and European sites.People Management & DevelopmentProvide leadership, mentorship, and direction for all regional QC personnel.Identify and develop QA/QC certification requirements and training needs for the team.Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new quality personnel.Ensure all project team members understand their quality responsibilities and deliver to the highest standard.Commercial & Client EngagementEnsure H&MV ITPs are incorporated into subcontractor tenders in collaboration with Quantity Surveyors.Manage the commercial operations of the quality team and forecast future resource requirements.Liaise with clients, suppliers, and manufacturers on quality-related matters across Ireland and Europe.Ensure Lessons Learned are captured, shared, and applied to future projects.Reporting & Continuous ImprovementMonitor, report, and drive improvement of QA/QC performance across all regional projects.Ensure documentation is completed to a high standard, on time, and in line with client/DNO/TSO requirements.Log and track NCRs in H&MV's system to ensure resolution and prevent recurrence.Identify opportunities for quality performance improvements across Ireland and European operations.Key RequirementsEducation & Professional BackgroundDegree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical), Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.Minimum 7+ years' experience in Quality Management within the construction, utilities, or energy sectors.Proven track record of managing quality teams across multiple sites and jurisdictions.Strong knowledge of Irish and European construction standards, regulations, and quality frameworks.Formal training and/or certification in ISO 9001 quality management systems (Lead Auditor or equivalent desirable).Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities (internal teams, subcontractors, and clients).High attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and implement corrective actions quickly.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize across multiple projects.Proficiency in QA/QC documentation systems and digital quality management tools.Problem-solving mindset with proven experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement.Ability to travel regularly across Ireland and Europe.H&MV Engineering is an Equal Opportunity EmployerWe value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.We're not here to keep up—we're here to lead.Ready to energise your career?Join our inclusive team and help build a brighter, more sustainable future—one project at a time.
