As a JCI accredited hospital, Blackrock Clinic is a progressive and pioneering hospital in which care for the patient is central to everything we do.Role Purpose:This role plays a vital part in supporting our clinical teams as they care for patients in a dynamic and fast‑paced hospital environment. It helps ensure that the right supplies, equipment, and materials are available when and where they are needed. The position focuses on administrative purchasing tasks, supplier follow‑ups, requisition processing, purchase order creation, and stock management to keep clinical services running smoothly.As a junior role, it provides an opportunity to build strong foundational skills in procurement, supply chain administration, data accuracy, and supplier coordination—all essential to delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care across Blackrock Clinic.Qualifications/Experience:Essential: 2–3 years' experience in procurement or supply chainBeneficial: Familiarity with healthcare operationsRequired: Confident IT user with strong digital skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data.Willingness to learn procurement systems, tools, and processes.Effective communicator with a polite and professional manner.Organised, proactive, and able to follow structured workflows.Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality work.Key Responsibilities:1. Purchasing Administration & Order ProcessingAssist with the creation, processing, and tracking of purchase requisitions.Generate purchase orders in accordance with approved requests, ensuring accuracy of pricing, product codes, and supplier details.Maintain up-to-date logs of outstanding requisitions, orders, and supplier responses.2. Supplier Follow‑Ups & CommunicationConduct follow-ups with suppliers regarding order acknowledgements, lead times, delivery dates, and backorders.Escalate urgent or delayed orders to senior team members.Support supplier communication by requesting missing information, updated pricing, or product availability.3. Data Management & System UpdatesUpdate OA/PIMS with accurate order details, supplier responses, and required documentation.Assist with catalogue updates, including pricing, product codes, discontinued items, and replacements.Ensure purchasing records, digital files, and procurement documents are maintained and easy to retrieve.4. Internal Customer SupportRespond to internal queries about order status, sourcing of items, PO updates, or supplier information.Support clinical and administrative teams by providing timely and accurate updates.Redirect complex queries to the Team Manager.5. Compliance, Quality & Operational ExcellenceEnsure all purchasing activities follow internal policies, hospital procurement procedures, and audit requirements.Support accuracy, traceability, and process efficiency across purchasing workflows.Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to procurement best practices.6.
