Be the backbone of innovation and join a leading pharmaceutical company to help keep life-changing science moving forward!Hobson Prior is seeking an Automation and Controls Engineer for a rapidly growing pharmaceutical employer to join a dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing and implementing manufacturing processes for new and existing inhalation products. You will be involved in all stages of product development, from initial design to equipment validation and commercialization. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects in a regulated environment.Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.Responsibilities:Oversee engineering activities to develop manufacturing processes for new and existing products.Collaborate with the product development team to ensure designs meet objectives and are easy to manufacture.Manage the lifecycle of equipment and process control systems, from initial requirements to qualification.Plan and execute equipment validations, including computer system validations.Develop capital expenditure plans for manufacturing equipment.Provide technical support to manufacturing and packaging teams.Investigate and resolve process issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.Lead instrumentation and process control functions for manufacturing equipment.Troubleshoot and resolve software and control issues on equipment such as PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and serialization systems.Write, review, and approve technical documents, including investigation reports and process improvement studies.Document and manage the introduction of new products and components.Key Skills and Requirements:A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related field).Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in regulated industries like medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
