The role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep and presentation of our residential communities. This is a multi-site role across Dublin, including the Canvas site. You will be responsible for carrying out general repairs, ensuring health and safety compliance, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents.
Key Role Responsibilities
Carry out general building maintenance across apartments, communal areas, plant rooms, and external spaces to a high standard.
Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues promptly using the site’s electronic maintenance system.
Perform basic plumbing, joinery, painting/decorating, minor electrical work, and general handyman duties.
Ensure compliance with Irish health and safety regulations, including fire alarm checks, emergency lighting tests, and general site safety inspections.
Maintain accurate records for statutory inspections, including PAT testing and weekly fire alarm checks.
Monitor refuse and recycling areas, ensuring all communal spaces remain clean, safe, and free from hazards.
Support the team with key management and ensure building security is maintained at all times.
Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs, refurbishment works, and unit turnover cleaning where required.
Liaise with and supervise external contractors and service providers, ensuring appropriate permits and RAMS are in place.
Monitor and manage stock levels of maintenance supplies and materials.
Participate in the on-call rota for emergency out-of-hours maintenance support.
Report accidents, incidents, and risks in line with internal procedures and Irish legislation.
About You
You should have a reasonable level of general education, ideally educated to O’ Level/GCSE standard or equivalent, with strong written and numerical skills. Awareness of health and safety requirements on site is essential. You should be committed to continually improving your knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve the best results. A recognized trade qualification, such as a Building Crafts Operative Certificate, City and Guilds, or NVQ in a relevant trade, is required. Experience in domestic repairs and maintenance, or as a general builder, plumber, electrician, or carpenter, is necessary. You should have fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written, and a friendly, helpful personality to maintain professionalism with colleagues and residents. A strong team player with excellent relationship-building skills, you should be able to work independently and positively, finding cost-effective solutions to repairs. Contractor and supplier supervision skills are desirable, along with excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
