Job Summary
Establishing, maintaining, and monitoring health & safety programs to protect human health, the environment, and control related business risks. This role requires an individual to independently coordinate programs, often managing issues at the Division level and working with senior staff.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
* Extensive knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation (ROI and NI).
* Evaluate the work environment regarding ergonomics, machine guarding, and applicable regulations.
* Conduct and assist in audits, accident investigations, and trend analysis.
* Lead or participate in cross-functional teams for EHS issue resolution or new equipment/process approval.
* Provide consultation and support initiatives related to EHS projects, including maintaining the Plant's Hazard Communication Plan and Hearing Conservation Program, among others required by law.
* Assist in developing safe work practices, including lockout/tag-out procedures, confined space/permit programs, and process safety protocols.
* Conduct safety audits, support inspections, and maintain regulatory documentation.
* Develop hazardous incident procedures.
* Manage safety programs such as hazard communication, change control, reporting KPIs, PPE, emergency response, and regulatory reporting.
* Ensure compliance with site permits and legal reporting requirements.
* Perform facility tours and inspections to ensure adherence to EHS policies and mentor sites on global and regional initiatives.
* Coordinate with process engineering and operations to review and update procedures and equipment.
* Train employees on EHS management system audits and quality system audits as needed.
* Develop and audit employee safety training and awareness programs.
* Support customer and management initiatives for certification programs and ensure customer-specific EHS requirements are met.
* Potentially author global EHS documentation and submit reports to external agencies.
* Follow all security and records management procedures.
* Participate in or lead accident/incident investigations.
Knowledge Requirements
* Experience analyzing manufacturing processes and evaluating machinery.
* Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 and 45001 standards (mandatory).
* Knowledge of applicable local, regional, and international regulations concerning health, safety, and hazardous substances.
* Strong technical, organizational, and compliance record.
* Excellent communication skills, including leading meetings and presenting recommendations. Fluency in English required.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and database management.
Education And Experience
* Bachelor's Degree required.
* At least 3-5 years of related Health/Safety Engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
