The Client and overview of the Role: My Client are a Connacht-based Construction Main Contractor with an annual turnover circa €80m. They have numerous live projects across the Country and are building several schools across Munster. They are involved projects for; public works, sports, commercial and residential buildings and are one of the leading Public Works Contractors in the West. We are hiring Site Engineer and Site Manager for a recently-won Commercial project in the Galway City area.. As Site Engineer/Senior Site Engineer you'll be working as part of a team and will also be responsible for producing As-Built drawings and various other documents for Technical Submittals (Irish Water, ESB, Local Authorities etc.), Setting-Out or supervising a Setting-Out Engineer, subcontractor management, ordering materials and managing logistics for deliveries etc. Main responsibilities will include: Setting-Out using total station or supervising Setting-Out Engineers where required. Carrying out setting out and surveying activities for various building trades using robotic total station and dumpy level. Coordinate and liaise with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers and Services Coordinator to ensure that all subcontractors and site personnel have timely and accurate information. Ensuring that all materials used, and work performed are as per specification and drawing requirements. Supervising and coordinating subcontractors, conducting site inspections, and providing technical expertise. Involvement in project planning, risk management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulation. Managing and maintaining the RFI register on site. Managing and maintaining the submittals register on site. Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management related discipline 2+ years experience as a Site Engineer/Senior Site Engineer with a Main Contractor or Residential Developer. Experience using setting out equipment - Eg. total station, GPS and laser levels. Knowledge of temporary works coordination. Strong attention to detail and able to work on own initiative.
