Director of Nursing Opportunity at Windmill House Care Centre and Retirement Village
Windmill Healthcare is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to oversee our Care Team at Windmill House Care Centre and Retirement Village, located in Churchtown, North Cork. This 40-bed residential facility is poised for growth, with a 42-bed extension set to be completed by the end of 2025. The complex also features 10 independent living bungalows.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Governance:
* Demonstrate effective governance and leadership in the management of Windmill House Care Centre
* Ensure the provision of high-quality care and service to residents and their families
* Maintain compliance with HIQA Regulations
* Promote and oversee the delivery of holistic, person-centred care
* Lead the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated and seamless care
Management and Operations:
* Undertake the role and responsibilities of the Person-in-Charge in line with the Health Act 2007, related regulations, and HIQA standards
* Ensure excellence in governance, management, and leadership
* Responsibility for the management of the team supported by the ADON
* Facilitate training and education for all staff
* Implement and amend policies and procedures in line with current guidelines
* Communicate with external agencies
* Responsibility for risk management, health and safety, IPC, management of complaints and incidents in line with company policy
Requirements:
Candidate Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified registered nurse with at least 3 years' experience in the last 6 years in care of the older person
* Post-registration management qualification (level 8) in healthcare or related field
* No less than 3 years' experience in a management capacity in the health and social care area
* Engaged in continuous professional development
* Demonstrate sound knowledge and clinical nursing practice in care of older persons
* In-depth knowledge of HIQA and compliance with the Health Act and working within
* Knowledge of HR law, H&S, and relevant legislation governing nursing homes
