Highfield Healthcare which incorporates Highfield Hospital the Approved Centre's registered by the Mental Health Commission and Nursing Home Services including the Alzheimer Care Centre registered by HIQA.

Reporting Relationship
The post holder reports to the Director of Clinical Operations on all operational & clinical matters.
Role Summary
The Occupational Therapy Manager is a key appointment in the development of a comprehensive/effective service for adults & older adults with mental health needs (500 beds). The Occupational Therapy Manager will be responsible for the overall management and performance of occupational therapy provision within Highfield Healthcare in keeping with good professional practice and subject to agreed national policy directives and priorities. The Occupational Therapy Manager as Head of Discipline will be responsible for clinical supervision and clinical governance as outlined under the CORU guidelines, to Occupational Therapists working in Highfield Healthcare services.
The Occupational Therapy Department provides a service to the following clinical specialties;
• Psychiatry Older Adults/Psychiatry of Later life (14 beds)
• Specialised Rehabilitation Units (Mental Health, 22 beds))
• Acute Mental Health (Inpatient 21 beds)
• Long term Mental health ( 3 units 60 beds)
• Home Treatment Team (Lucan & Main site)
• Day Hospitals (Mental Health) (Lucan, Elmhurst & Main site)
• Dementia Care/Nursing Home (Alzheimer's Care Centre & Nursing home)
The post holder will also establish links with internal & external stakeholders of the organisation to raise the profile of Occupational Therapy delivered by Highfield Healthcare.

• Consultants Psychiatrists
• Heads of Discipline
• Clinical Nurse Managers
• Senior Management
• All members of Occupational Therapy Team
External stakeholders examples;
• Occupational Therapy Managers in CHO 9 & other relevant fields
• Education Institutions (TCD, NUI Galway, UL etc …)
• Equipment suppliers
• AOTI
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications and/ or experience
Candidates must:
• Demonstrate sufficient clinical and professional knowledge to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role.
• Have at least 4 years' experience in a senior role in Mental health.
• Previous experience in leading a team/management of other staff
• Excellent communication skills
